The clothes and shoes thing is, I think, inherited in my case. My friend gave me a pair of shoes for my birthday. Em saw the box and squealed, "SHOOOOES!" No matter what she is wearing, even if it's just a diaper, she points to her shoe basket and says, "Need shoes." If she can't wear the shoes she wants, she trows a fit sobbing, "Mine shoes!
