Well, I'm thoroughly bummed out. Job Guy cancelled our meeting today (an hour before it was supposed to happen). He's not going to go with me and asked me to submit a time record of everything I've done so far so they can pay me for that.
Oh, Cashmere. You've been working so hard. I'm so sorry. What a long, drawn-out process to go through, just to hear this. Again, I'm so sorry. It's totally their loss. Plus asshattery.
Cindy, did you get my plaintive, helpless email the other day? I have a Vox question.
Oh, shoot. Yes I did. I'm sorry. I have to go to the Vox site to figure it out, because I can never remember, and then I got distracted by something whiny shiny.
I will go check and answer, right now.

Cash - so sorrry .
Sean , sorry this i shard for you , but so glad you are there for S.
Sorry the job isn't going to work out, Cashmere.
Sorry about the job thing, Cash.
So, I realized that I haven't eaten since yesterday morning. I'm hungry, but I'm not sure I can keep food down.
Sean -- first, let me say I'm sending good-health vibes to S. Lots of them.
Second, you need to eat (which you know), b/c it'll make you feel better and you'll be in better shape to take care of S. If you think you can't keep food down, try plain toast, or crackers, or a baked potato without anything on it -- something bland and unembellished and generally white/beige in color.
No vindaloo or habaneros, though.
think simple eggs, rice, toast. if nothign else warm chicken broth or beef broth. I am guessing if you get something down, your body will welcome it. Not a good idea for you not to eat. It would be bad for S if you got sick.
Thanks, everyone. I think I just built it up in my mind. I'm consoling myself with a Klondike bar and the fact that what I'll get paid for what I've already done will pay for over a third of the new laptop.
Now I need to call and make an appointment for a estimate on fixing the van.
{{Sean}} Thanks. I hope S is going to be ok. ICU is scary. I'm worried about you both.
ICU is scary.
It is, BUT: that's absolutely the best place for her to be when she's this sick. Which I'm sure Sean knows intellectually, but the sick feeling in the pit of his stomach probably isn't accepting logic right now.
But really, it's better she be in the ICU, where the staff is top-notch and can give her exactly the care and constant monitoring that she needs, versus being at home, or waiting for hours in an ER, etc.
I know you know all that, Sean, but as someone who's dealt with many many parental hospitalizations, I know how easy it is to listen to the sick feeling in the pit of your stomach instead of reminding yourself the logical stuff.
So let me be Captain Logic, and remind the pit of your stomach to ease up on you a bit.
