Now we're saving a vampire from vampires. I got two words for that -- Nuh and uh.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hec, I'm aware of your prospect for the future, in fact I've been wrestling with it all morning and refusing to lay it out for my nearest and dearest as one possibility. I did discuss it in email with a close friend, who has assured me she's fine with being used as a virtual punching bag. But while prepared for that eventuality, I have to try to believe in JZ's more positive outlook.

Yeah, I'm sorry to be such a gloombucket, Bev. As JZ rightly notes, the fact that he's already showing some signs of recovery is very encouraging. I didn't mean to be such a nattering nabob of negativity toward you so much as I wanted people to understand the length and difficulty of this path your family is on.

What's complicating things further is that his ex has custody of the kids.

I was wondering how this situation would play out. Here's my bright side scenario for you, since I owe you one: the ex actually lightens up over this situation. Since it's clear that StE can't take custody right now, she won't perceive it as a threat and will gradually realize the value of including your family in her children's lives.

Hec - Being a "nattering nabob of negativity" is necessary sometimes.

Not that it applies to this situation, but when a friend of mine heard that our neighbor was getting hospice care, her response was "I hope he gets well soon". Ummm, no. Was not going to happen. She just didn't understand what hospice care meant and we were too wreaked by the it all to explain it to her.

What is even happening?

P-C, Scott just got asked to go to India (he didn't say which city) on a six month exchange (at work). They'd pay for all of us to go, provide an apartment, and I think he said there would have been a raise involved. He passed, though.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Gloomcookie is HOTT.

Yeah, I could look at pictures of GC all day.

Wishing -ma to S and Sean.

In some positive medical news, JZ got her follow up sonogram this morning and everything looks fine. Placenta is good, baby is good. JZ is good.

It has been further established that the Halloweenie is extremely camera shy, and will in fact flip over on her head and dangle her legs over her face when confronted with any kind of imaging device.

JZ's in bed, with the breakfast tray, nibbling on spinach dip on lavosh, and tzatziki and artichoke and parmesan dip, with some tomatoes in balsamic and an apple and fizzy water. She's reading books (I've foisted John Fowles Daniel Martin on here. Also the new McSweeny.)

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Yay JZ and Halloweenie!!

Beverly, I'm sorry you have all these custody worried on top of StE's health concerns. It's all so scary, hard and hurtful.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

When did I acquire a Brit brain? Awaits Fay's response to this.

Right. Trousers. Though I do often go without pants, I feel it inappropriate at work.

{{Bev and family}}{{{{{StE}}}}} Still vibing for you, hon. I'd bring my candle to work with me, except I think my cow-irkers might look at me a little ascance considering our fire in June.

Continued ~ma and love to Beverly. Also, {{Sean and S}} I was just thinking out of the blue how cool she is and how much I enjoyed our quiet patio smoke during the Prom.

Mostly lurking...

{{{Bev}}}

Thoughts, vibes, and ~ma to S and Sean. I hope we hear from you soon with a good report.

I have been pretty busy ever since waking up. I've done about half of the things on my to-do list. I just got my first Netflix movies. I'm so very tempted to go curl up with my little puppy and watch one. Must be responsible, though, and get a few more things done. Blech. Being a responsible adult is no fun.
