Mom! Dead people are talking to you. Do the math!

Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Owen climbed his Little Tikes ladder, which is now set up so you can slide down and land in the inflatable pool, then says, "Too impinity and deonde!"

How did I miss this post? Too.damn.cute.

Hey. New board.

Suddenly, I find myself vaguely internet-flirting with four completely random girls. One eharmony match, one girl who randomly "poked" me on the facebook, one who is in my fellowship program, and one who I was introduced to by a friend on Friday.

I'm not sure how this happened, or exactly what I'm doing. But it's kind of exhilarating.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Go Gris!

My diner was lovely - we brought our own wine, so we ordered an appetizer out of guilt - artichoke-crab dip, yum! Then we were smart enough to split an entree (lamb) because we already have two meals worth of leftovers in the fridge. The lamb was delightful, the vegetables were absolutely delicious, and the potatoes were every bit as good as they should be. After that we felt virtuous enough to get a dessert each - cherry pie a la mode for me and key lime pie for DH. Wonderful.

Now I am just a little bit stuffed and pleasantly wined. Lovely.

I hope you're asleep by now, Zenkitty.

sj's dinner (ignoring the cucmbers) sounds fantastic.

All is well that ends in pizza.

On my way home from work the other day, I saw an Oscar Mayer Weinermobile going the other way on the Interstate.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Had another bat in the house tonight.

I managed to wrangle it with the fishing net before Harvey and Sammie got it.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

You must be getting expert on snaffling bats by now, Daniel.

A's win! We have the sneakiest catcher in baseball history. We totally stole that game. Except for the part where Texas just gave it away. Again, and again.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Hey. Tired. Sorry I didn't check in earlier.

The accident was in the paper this morning, so the neighbors know, and started calling. I was on phone duty, DH was on getting StE's papers together for the hospital's financial department. We decided which family members to tell and how much to tell them. DH went by to see StE a total of three times while he was in and out of the hospital today. I didn't get over there until after 7:00 tonight.

StE was propped sitting up, and much less bruised and scraped looking. He's moving all arms, legs, and hands, and is responding to physical stimulus, though not voice commands just yet. His BP and ICP are stable, and about where the doctors want them to be. It doesn't look now as if he'll have to have surgery, it's just going to be a long road of therapy and patience, and we don't know how soon he'll be conscious, or how much ground he'll have lost.

But everybody's very positive about where he is, so we have to trust them and let them do their jobs, and let him do his, which is healing.

I can't tell you what the vibes and the wishes and the good thoughts here have meant to me and my family. Thank you all, so much.

Raq, I would love to see what you'd do to O'Keefe your goolie pics. Those fabric labia Betsy used to link to are considered art, after all. And well, O'Keefe!

Beej, de nada--I'm glad I could find the right one. I hope you enjoy it.

Cash, that may be the cutest Owen story I've ever heard. It's certainly the cutest thing I've heard all day. And even a skint head can't make Owen an unattractive boy.

Oh poor JZ. I'm so sorry, dear. Yes definitely, a laptop is a necessity for the duration. I was on bedrest with my stupid toe for a day and a half, and I'd have gone nuts without the laptop, even though I did drop off to sleep at random occasions.

Emily, I'm so sorry about your laptop, and the bad timing. Here's hoping a good solution happens.

sj, I completely understand the "I wasn't going anywhere in particular, but not being able to makes not going awful!" I hope you are re-vehicled, and soon.

vw, your nestbuilding the new apartment just sounds lovely. I'm glad Toto's happy there, too. And pfeh on dinner. But yay to good peaches. The ones around here haven't been good at all this year.

Aimee, karma is a harsh mistress. And also? I'm reeeeeally glad you're outta there.

I missed Katie B's birthday again!

ETA: But I remembered Aimee's! Felicitations on the Anniversary of Your Natal Day, oh Empress! And many happy returns.

beth, the bookcase pictures are awesome, especially the dress and the superhero gloves.

I think that's all I can remember. Bed now. 'night.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Get some rest, Bev. It sounds like the prognosis is good and I hope he recovers quickly.
