Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"In the equation E = mc⬧, c⬧ is a pretty big honking number." - Scola

So I'm sitting here, browsing the Web (reading "Blogging the Bible," actually), and I keep hearing noises like someone on the other side of the wall is having rather meaningful sex, which is a bit odd.

Turns out it's the coffeemaker. Now that's disturbing.

You know in nine months it's going to pop out a little toaster oven...

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

And yet probably fits into my religious world view today as well as anything. Coffee = nigh-ultimate good.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

What is the term for someone who believes in a god (any one, really) but doesn't worship them?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

You know, I've never once thought my coffeemaker was people having sex.

Maybe I'm doing it listening wrong.

Emily, when was the last time you heard people having sex?

"Lapsed" would fit that description, but that's not what you're looking for. I wonder if there is a term for what I think you're describing. If there isn't, there should be.

I always used to think that's what agnostic meant, but lately it doesn't seem to be used that way.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

What is the term for someone who believes in a god (any one, really) but doesn't worship them?

The best I can think of is "Non-practicing (enter belief of choice here)". Probably not what you are looking for though.

What is the term for someone who believes in a god (any one, really) but doesn't worship them?
