Red is the most difficult to maintain. While it was red, I think I was doing a touch-up on the roots every 3 weeks. Sometimes less.
Normal root touch-up is usually anywhere between 4 - 6 weeks, depending on your hair.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Aimee, thank you. I actually like it ... but I need to get a new job and haven't really been in the market for a long time.
I was thinking of something less adventurous - a shade or two lighter than my natural very dark brown, maybe a little red in it. I did learn not to do it myself, remembering what happened last year, but I think I may need to. At least until I GET a new job ... then I could let it come back in again.
What Aimee said, Toddson.
The grocery store near me now sells Fernet Branca. It's shelved between the Jaegermeister and the ouzo, which is probably correct.
I'm completely with Aimee, Todd. Your coloring is so striking!

Heh, that sounds about right.

That is totally correct.
Toddson, I love your haircolor, but I understand about the job-hunt thing. And yes, something a little lighter would look fantastic on you.
Your hair is so beautiful, Toddson! Talk to your stylist about how you can get back to your natural shade before you dye it, he'll probably be able to recommend a shade that will allow you to change it subtly.
I'm with Aimee on Todd's hair, too. I think it's beautiful.
If you do end up coloring it, you'll need to touch up the roots with every haircut. I get my hair done every 6 weeks (standing appt.). That includes a cut and color (typically just of my roots). Then every 3rd appt, I do all over color and highlights.
Thanks for the advice! I'll have to discuss it with my hair guy.
You know what's wrong? I was in North Carolina several months ago and visited the Duke campus, where I purchased a Duke notebook. I'm using said notebook for my statistics class. Due to the recent Duke rape scandal, I find that I hide the cover of the notebook. I have a black friend in the class that I'm even more careful of the notebook around. I never intended to make a political statement when purchasing a university trinket while on vacation, damn it! Do others get this crazy about such things or is it just me?
