That's not what making out sounds like -- unless I'm doing it wrong?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I forgot how being alone makes me feel so...lonely

I was feeling lonely, all "It's Sunday and I want to see people and do stuff!" but then I had an adorably cute email in my inbox from the Torontonian (what *would* the word be for "person-who-lives-in-Toronto"?), which was contrary to my fears from her previous email (where she was all "sorry I"m all business...seems weird to go into it on email" and I was like "Is that code for "I have a girlfriend"?").

And I did so much laundry yesterday, now I don't want to put any clothes on, because I want to just be all "Look all my clothes are clean!".

and am preparing to do laundry as soon as the laundry room opens.

Your laundry room is only open certain hours?!? That's so not right.

Since my Dad is functionally blind now, JZ had us make a tape for him

Aww, that's really awesome.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Pasta salad is made. Brownies are in the oven. I, however, am still all icky and sweaty, and Dave is going to be home in a half hour.

Our wings are not tired.

Jealous of the American Romanticism class. I considered taking a literature class for an elective, but they were too time consuming. I ended up taking science classes for my electives instead. My electives consisted of entry level classes of every science they had to offer. I did almost no reading for joy when I was in college. All business and statistics and the like. Blah.

My mom has not received that memo.

I'm working hard to convince her that she is doing them both harm. She has come a long way. The whole high school thing is hitting her hard. He's younger than the rest of his class and that doesn't help. He gets to ride his bike the dozen blocks or so to my house by himself. This was a big step. (still has to call upon arrival)

I'm at the other end of the spectrum so that makes our friendship odd at times. I always expected the boys to be independent. I know where they are at all times, but they don't have to call me unless the plan changes.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Fay, girlfriend, when you get here please tell us how to say "Insh'allah' because mom's class is heavily Muslim for summer session and they will be astounded. Funny, I learned from a Yorkshire lass. And yeah, Cindy. Would love to look England up and down myself. One day.

Er. Well, my attempt to render it into phonetical English is this: In - shuh - aah - la

But my flatmate suggests this:

En - sha' allah

Um. Take your pick.

She might like to practics "Sallarm-a-lay-cum" (Peace be upon you) and the traditional respons "Way a-lay-cum sallarm" (And upon you be peace), 'cause that always goes down a treat.

Also, in Egypt the slang for 'cool' is 'ishtah!', which means 'cream!' Don't know how multiregional that is, though.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Laura, I think I dreamed that you were Hec's ex-wife.

Our wings are not tired.

Eeep Fay (and I typed that Gay the first time around) all manner of pieces falling into place ~ma for you. Also quick beauracracy ~ma.

Laura, I think I dreamed that you were Hec's ex-wife.

Oh we're just one big married Buffista family here.

Always Anti-fascist!

I think we're good, Fay. Plenty of egyptians in her class.Egyptians, Sudanese, Afghanis, all united by their inability to write an expositiory paragraph...it's probably a very illiterate Benetton ad in there, although God knows what they've been through. And I knew about "salaam aleichem" because very few of my crime novels fail to have a storefront or jailhouse imam in them, but Mom doesn't always read my things...except "Practical Homicide Investigation"(I guess it's genetic)

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Cheers. Freaking out a little bit over here.

Also, have just acknowledged to myself that yes, I should go and sell (essentially 'give away') all my graphic novels. Because those suckers are Too Fucking Heavy to take with me. I am purging myself of as much stuff as possible, including text books that I use for teaching. Clinging on to Sandman and Lucifer and League of Extraordinary Gentleman is stupid. I can't afford this weight. I'm living out of a suitcase. Deal with it.

rocks back and forth, keening.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Can't you ship it, Fay?

Also I suggest you go to the police offices wearing your gorgeous hat from the other day and allow the nice nice policemen to help the pretty lady out of her predicment.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

My mom has not received that memo.

Nor mine. I think she still hasn't grasped the idea that I am not her appendage, and therefore she isn't entitled to know every last detail of my life, because it's *my* life, not hers.

ION, I finally just got The Boy out the door and on his way home. Good night last night. Yes. And he made the bed this morning, which just strikes me as oddly sweet.
