But that's just my point! You she obeys! She obeys you! There's obeying going on right under my nose!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Did my gronk kill the thread? Sorry.

Ah! So it was Hil, in the study, with the gronk.

Wally report! Well, I'm still living the dream. So there's that out of the way. Wallybee and I have finalised details for our Alice Springs vacation after I get back from your lovely theme park country. And we wandered around the wilderness reserve at Latrobe Uni, seeing numerous kangaroos and one goat, which I patted (while Wallybee alternately took pics and shrieked whenever it approached her). Oh, and whie we're walknig across a lawn, causing the purple swamphens to go into full ignore mode (seriously, they were ignoring us before, but when we approached I swear they turned it up a notch), swallows flew around our feet after the insects we were stirring up in our wake. For some reason I found that very funny.

Oh! And we watched the first ep of the new Doctor Who season on Saturday night. First time she's watched the whole way through. I may have a convert. (And she's just discovered Fawlty Towers!) And the new Attenborough special started on Sunday night! (Planet Earth.) Huzzah!

Huh.

The status is NOT quo.

Guess what, billytea? Looks like you'll be staying in a brand new domicile in Pasadena. Just got the confirmation email from current landlord saying she's going to call new landlord to say how great I am...HOLY SHIT I THINK WE'RE GOING TO MOVE!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Hey, bt, when are you going to be in NY during this trip? I remember seeing the dates and thinking that I might be around then, but might not, and now I know when I'll be in NY and when I won't, but I've forgotten when you'll be there.

I'll arrive on August 28 and leave August 30. Will you be around then?

Hey, Californistas -- how far is Thousand Oaks from LA, and how far is Palo Alto from SF? (I'm looking into places to work next summer. This program that I've been working for for the past two summers has sites in a bunch of places, and I'm thinking maybe next year, when I apply, I'll request somewhere West coastish.)

Hmm. Probably. That's right in the middle of my "I guess I'll go back to DC sometime this week, depending on when someone can drive me" week.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

You're supposed to get interest on a deposit? I never have.

Oh, yeah!

Wait, seriously? It's supposed to accrue interest? I've never heard of this at all.

how far is Palo Alto from SF?

I'd say forty-five minutes to an hour.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

how far is Thousand Oaks from LA,

Close. I used to commute from Echo Park (LA) to Agoura Hills (further than Thousand Oaks). Thousand Oaks is the Valley.

brillig

I stopped to watch some fireflies in one of the fields

My god, I miss fireflies. The little blinking lights going off into the distance and under the trees.

Hubby thinks they're a myth. I ignore him and miss my hills.
