Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Oh! Random family bitching I forgot about.

I've been working for four months, and I'm not even a full-time employee yet, and my dad, while I was home, advised me to keep my eyes out for any other job opportunities, and my mom chimed in, "Somewhere closer to home," and GAH. It doesn't help that they still will not fucking let go of the fact that I got out of the research track. "Would you be making more money if you did the research? Is there room for advancement in what you're doing? Does your job relate to your pharmacology studies?" YES NO MAYBE SO STFU OMG.

After being WAY to busy to do anything with my Match.com profile for two months, I just got a REALLY nice e-mail from someone.

Oooooh, does he want to expedite the dating process?

Actually, it doesn't sound like it :). He sounds very nice. Instead of ending with "expediting the courting process," he ended with, "So that is me, reaching out to you and hoping you might write back. If not, I wish you the best!"

Oh, and he's a Buffy fan!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

That sounds like a guy with some potential, vw!

Now tagless for your comfort.

These kinds of "what's in and what's out" tensions are endemic to historical organizations. We won't discuss the klingons or the vampires ("There were vampires in the middle ages!" "Oookay, but why can I see them?"), but you know what people didn't wear in western europe in the middle ages? Loincloths. Even, and you'd be surprised by how many people this catches, even when they are made of chainmail.

At a nearby Ren Faire I once saw a girl dressed as Xena. *shrug* The best dressed visitors I saw that same day, though, were a pack of Scots. They were appropriately dressed in period costume kilts and were very rude when the Queen was announced at the jousting. They were HI-larious.

Oh, and he's a Buffy fan!

I'd be careful, I've heard that some of those people are weird.

-t, have you tried any actuarial recruiters? Those people are bulldogs--I've met some and they really are tenacious.

My back/hip thing, unfortunately is back in full swing. I've got an appointment for another shot next Wednesday. I just hope the effects of this one last a little bit longer.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Yay, Jen!!!
