Cacophony.  That's pretty.  What's it mean?

Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Some sleep was achieved. Alas, it was neither through tequila or yoga but some sort of quiet meditation.

I promise to not make my head go 'splodey right before bedtime.

R's boss is an asshead.

I love the little league updates. DH was a baseball player and I sort of miss the games.

move out and draw fire

Well that's just plain shittiness.

Yes, yes it is. He's one of those Chicken Little bosses. The quote was "You left me for 3 weeks to go on vacation! You can't leave me again!" Because it's all about him.

And Robert wasn't on vacation, he was on a mandatory trip to the USAWC for State.

The boss, of course, is going to be out of the office for months...which is okay with everybody, as they all spent R's first day back from USAWC begging him to never leave again.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Connie, much -ma for your husband.

Hec, love the fannish translations.

I was working from home last night and just could not concentrate because of all the screaming kids. There are two more than usual these days. Plus, I was tired. I gave up and came into work early today. I made it here in half an hour! Traffic at this hour is kind of nonexistent.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Poor P-C.

That's it, that's all I've got right now. The gronk, she is mighty.

Always Anti-fascist!

Uh, I watched Sports Night yesterday...may not be done yet..have lost count, actually. I liked it, bunches. But cannot account for the fact that my memory says I watched some earlier in the '90s than is possible...what smart-but-canceled show might I be thinking of?

Oh, yay for Sports Night ! What episode did you see?

I love the Dresden Dolls.

Always Anti-fascist!

I've watched a bunch of the first few at once. I was intrigued at f2f, and, like I said, thought it was something I'd watched before I left home, but it wouldn't exist for another six years, so crossover brain must have damaged me.ETA: And I'm completely newsroom-nostalgic now. The profanity, the pressure, the stress! Sigh. Good times.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

They were winning going into the bottom of the last inning. The other team had a runner at second with two outs.

The pitcher got a comebacker, but instead of throwing to first to get the easy force, win the game and go to the finals, instead threw to third where they didn't get the out, and the other team went on to win.

Oh, god. You should see the expression on my face right now. You know how, in Bull Durham, Nuke winces every time one of his pitches goes wild? That's my expression right now. Poor little dude.

ION, remember the Grandpa Has No Nose saga of a few months ago? (He has since obtained a nose, by the way.) He's in the hospital with pneumonia and septicemia. That's really freaking serious.

But because my family does not believe in actually communicating, all I know is that he's in the hospital, and what the diagnosis is. I have no idea how he's doing, and how he's expected to do. Because, as I said, my passive-aggressive aunt is his caretaker, and therefore gives us very little information. Grrrr.

It's the hospital that's 5 minutes from my office, so I'm going to go over either at lunch or after work, to see what's actually going on.

I'd be stressed, except the man is a tank. I mean, I have no doubt that he's very ill, but he's a tank, and he'll probably recover beautifully. So, I'm *not* stressed. Mostly annoyed (at my aunt), with a dash of concern (for Grandpa, obviously).

What is even happening?

Oh, Teppy. I'm so sorry. He's in my prayers. And hey, maybe eat something before you go visit (yes, I am remembering the visit to your dad, where you came home wrecked).

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Ouch, Tep, I hope things improve. And that someone remembers to *tell* you when they do. Go Tank!Grandpa.

And Connie, jesus, it's about time that man got some relief. I really hope this works out for him.
