It's good to have cargo. Makes us a target for every other scavenger out there, though, but sometimes that's fun too.

Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Gotta say, Slings and Arrows looks like something I'd fall head over heels in love with.

Oh yeah. Plus it's got several male/male relationships that could benefit from slash goggles. Even the dim, pretty motorcycle boy is gallant and interesting.

move out and draw fire

Fay, you would absolutely adore it. It's the best acting I've seen from Paul Gross, too. The whole cast is fantastic, but I have to say his performance surprised me (in a good way). I'm looking forward to the DH getting home so I can watch it again with fewer distractions and someone who understands why I'm laughing or crying.

he may be sensitive to rhythm in language

If he raps in iambic pentameter, I'm okay with that.

My best male friend is really good at the "Your rant is boring. Here, catch this curveball" thing with me, but I have to say I don't take that well from Robert. He doesn't take it well when I rant either, tho, so that's fair.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

got side with David on this one. DH is a ranter. everynow and then I just look at him and say" Is this helping?" and think of something more fun to do. now, if had said , this is boreing and walked away - that's dofferent. but he found a way to make her feel better -and that is good.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

I don't think there's really a question of taking sides here.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

But it wasn't a boring story! It had the chilliest street corner in San Francisco, and a random crazy woman yelling at all the huddled shivering masses, and a pregnant woman drinking gin straight out of the bottle (not me, I hasten to add), and a pack of heartbreakingly beautiful teens already seriously wasted and wobbling their way out to the beach to get even more fucked up and talking about who was and wasn't a reliable source of hallucicogens at their school (apparently there's some girl who claims her shroom treats are C-benzie but they're really just AST -- but her dry-cap mushrooms are the shit. Discerning shoppers need to know this.), and a creepy guy named Dexter who failed to notice that I was 5 months pregnant and tried valiantly to hit on me because I "looked really young" and was a "good woman."

Admittedly, Monty Python was more fun.

Plus it's got several male/male relationships that could benefit from slash goggles.

There was a discussion in one of the lj communities about how it's nearly impossibly to slash Geoffrey Tennant. He's like Crichton, with the core of his character so resolutely, messily, angrily OTP-centric that it's all but impossible to believably pair him up with anyone but Ellen, male or female.

But, oh, how I want backstory on the opening-credits couple. It needn't even have Teh Sex -- I just want their story, dammit.

Well, then you buried the lede with "I waited and waited and waited and waited and waited...."

Even Samuel Beckett had the sense to slide in some vaudeville.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I had a porny dream about Nathan Fillion and Joe saw Joaquin Phoenix at the gas station across the street from our house. Joe saw him and said to him, "My wife's gonna kill me."

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

it's nearly impossibly to slash Geoffrey Tennant. He's like Crichton

Uh, Crichton from which show? Because if you're talking Farscape, he's gotten it on with at least Scorpius, D'Argo and Crais. At least that is what my goggles tell me.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

got side with David on this one. DH is a ranter. everynow and then I just look at him and say" Is this helping?" and think of something more fun to do. now, if had said , this is boreing and walked away - that's dofferent. but he found a way to make her feel better -and that is good.

a)

I don't think there's really a question of taking sides here.

What Fay said.

b) he still told her and us that her wrothful tale was boring to him. Mebbe the Python could have been applied without that part?

eta: and now that I've done my butting in for the day, I am going to get my hair cut. YAY

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

But its more FUN if we take sides.

Then we can pull out all those antique swords and deuling pistols all you people have squirrled away.
