[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I've had one professional massage. It was okay. Not good enough to make me want to be naked and at the mercy of a stranger with any regularity.

The times when I am all tense and could probably use a massage, I really don't want to be touched, partly because I am sure that any poking at the clenched muscles will hurt like the dickens.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

When I get my eyebrows done, it's in the dimmed room with scented candles burning and relaxing music playing. She has me lie down on a warmed, well-padded table. Then, when I'm nice and relaxed, she starts ripping my eyebrows out by the roots.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I never thought I would like facials until I had one, but the results were pretty awesome. I don't think my face had ever been that clean before, ever.

My office used to offer free 20-minute massages once a month. They need to bring those back.

Oh, and Raq, I loved the line, "They (goths) like their graveyards and they love their cats."

move out and draw fire

I liked that line too.

I had one facial (not thinking pr0n, not!) and was eh. My face didn't look or feel different.

Massages, OTOH, when done well, are nirvana. I'm trying to decide if I want to pay $2/minute for a massage at the new place near me (I probably won't, as I'd have to walk home, and a good massage leaves me all wobbly).

And yeah, I was a bit ooked by the thought of someone else touching me, but hey, plenty of amateurs have done it, why not a trained professional?

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Hee! Thank you, Raq. Yes, I have seen them, and actually have the one from the Guardian printed out and posted on my office door.

I luuuuurve massages, facials, body scrubs ... just about any spa service, really. I'm hoping to go back to the giant Korean-style Spa of Doom in July. Multiple soaking pools, and packages that include a full body scrub AND a moisturisng treatment that involves being covered with olive oil and honey, and then having fresh grated cucumber applied to your face.

... well, there went any motivation I might have had for work. To heck with editing, I want to spend the day getting a body scrub and a facial.

I love massages. In fact, I would love one right. now.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

What Vortex said.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Am I alone in my anti-massage-ness? I don't want any stranger touching my bod. It would make me uncomfortable and tense, which is so not the point.

Definitely not alone. You might enjoy this old piece from Popgurls, if you haven't read it, already: [link]

Oh, man. I could have written that. My basic feeling about spas and spa treatments, etc., is: personal bubble! PERSONAL BUBBLE!!!!

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Working from home rules. I'm still in my jammies, drinking coffee from my Tigger mug. Also? Solving work crises from home is so much less stressful.

I am so jealous. Especially today.

Also, I love massages sooooooo much and really, really, really want one right now. Or, rather, in just enough time for me to be not here. Although, I could even live with a shoulder massage here at work. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening any time soon.
