Spike's Bitches 31: We're Motivated Go-getters.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Your advisor needs a rubric for assessing posts.

No, really.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Your advisor needs a rubric for assessing posts.

I believe that is up to the professor.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I get board wishes, phone calls, an asstastic haiku and my very own blues song? You folks are the best!

I have nothing to contribute to the crazy-job-hours discussion, being that my job is incredibly undemanding and I frequently sulk and whine if forced to work past 5:05. The pay is crap, but it's worth it to just be able to leave at 5:00 without worrying about it (or work overtime, paid heftily, exactly and only when I choose to). But I am lazy like a thing that is lazy.

Also, completely and humbly in awe of the teachers here, who work the crazy hours and don't even get the crazy pay for it.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

OK, off to class! I hope I don't cry when I see the syllabus.

Happy syllabus, Nora!!! And, strangely, while tonight is your first class, it is my LAST night of class. I have 2 lesson plans done and ready to turn in.

Thursday, I have to go, but only to turn in my final. Which I have about 1/3 completed.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

In conclusion, let's make out.

Hee. I love that I started a trend.

Kristin, that is so awesome, and I hope your friend gets to work at your school, because it will make the both of you very happy.

This site is wicked cool, and I am glad it exists.

I had a good lunch, but my stomach is all bajiggity. Not good.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

do you feel that krav balances out the negatives from your primary job? Or does it take more than that to bring you to a level where you can reasonably call yourself OK with life?

If I could do krav without feeling so guilty, it'd make it more balanced. I could remove guilt by coming in to work earlier (and getting less rest, because my bedtimes are often krav-dictated), but I am getting my job done. It's just that I leave at 4:30 on Mondays, and won't stay in the office much past 5:30 unless it's Friday¹. At which point, no one else will.

I'd call krav a requirement so far as my mental health goes, so it does help. But if I could telecommute more or work was nearer to home (and krav, which is 5 minutes away), it'd be even healthier.

¹: I am willing to take real late conference calls with our India team, perhaps more than anyone else--as long as they're after class.

Unrelatedly, my body is freakish. But I hadn't been sure how much until reading today's dressaday.com entry where people bemoan their 12" waist/hip differentials. I have recently acquired one of these, and it's quite irritating. And my waist is creeping up my body, although my navel is not. It's my obliques. They're getting bigger.

Nice and curvy, tho. Unlike me with a 4" differential.

I'm only curvy in profile. From the front or back silhouette, not much of anything happening.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Has where you bend when you tilt your torso to the side changed, or just where you are smallest across?
