But I understand. You gave up everything you had to find me. And you found me broken. It's hard for you.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Mine either, sj. What's up with that?

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

What's up with that?

I think the day is trying to tell us something.

To go back to bed?

To go back to bed?

That's what I am thinking. Instead, I am going to make myself another cup of tea and see if I can find my motivation.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Yours is probably playing hooky with mine, sj. I bought bunches of pretty flowers for my balcony yesterday; it's a beautiful day to get them planted. Yet, here I sit. Drinking coffee and reading, not going outside in the yummy sun to plant my garden.

Tea is brewing. The kitchen is cleaned up, except for the stuff that Dave is in charge of doing when he gets home, and I have successfully hidden the pron that was on top of a book pile in the living room. Progress, at least.

I've done about 10 minutes of culling paper files, and I'm pooped. This is gonna be a hella fun month.

In other news, I desparately need to defrag my computer, but can't get rid of the last half a gig to get 15% free space. Darn it!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Just do one little task, sj. Something you can start and finish. Tidy the sofa cushions. Straighten the slipcover, if there is one. There. Done. Now pick up the old mail off the end table, dump the junk and tuck the stuff you need to keep in a pocket or the waistband of your pants/skirt till you make a trip to the room where the papers need to be dealt with. Straighten the lampshade, square or fan the stack of magazines on the coffee table. That's done.

Baby steps. Before you know it, you've built up an actual head of steam for accomplishing larger tasks.

Or at least that's how I have to do it. I promise myself I can stop or take a break after getting this done. Okay, well maybe this too. And oh! That's where that got to, let me put it where it belongs...and I might as well take this as I go.... Viewed as a whole, it's dismaying. But nibbles are manageable.

The news about Dallas is such a relief, as I mentioned in LJ, but it's worth repeating here, too.

Nice that the Reason-able kitties are getting along.

Sending P-C all sorts of heal-ma.

And Robin, the pics of you and WBBF are very warm, personable, and not smiling through grit-teeth posed-looking.

Waving at Laura, in transit. Safe landings, lady, and safe return.

This is how I am doing it. Deena taught me that trick ages ago, and it really helps me. I still have problems doing that first step though. After that it gets better.

This is some strong gronk. I forgot there was supposed to be a Red Sox game on today, but it turns out it was rained out.
