I'm not famous, but my brilliant friends are.

(My youngest brilliant friend got a perfect report card, today)

They found the safe at my church. Although it's not fireproof, the items inside seem to be recoverable, at least to some extent. There is smoke and water damage, but anything is just an incredible bonus at this point. There were old and not so old records, and a couple of historic family Bibles, that are all now sitting wrapped up in the museum's special freezer. Now, to figure out what to do next! This is not my specialty at all, but I'm blessed to have friends and coworkers who do specialize in this kind of thing. Plus, learning experience!

Gnaaaah. I just got home--flew in at 8pm, and Vortex picked me up and we had dinner. I have another flight at 9AM. But I don't WANNA do all the things I need to (like pay some bills, pack, figure out where exactly I need to go once I get there, etc etc). And yet, "getting up early" is not only something I never manage to do, but also a bad plan because I expect I'll be up late, tomorrow night. ARGH. But I have no energy right now.

Hec, I'm so sorry about the ARCG. So sad.

Meanwhile, I've just heard that my neighbor from across the street was killed in a traffic accident this morning. I've lived here for about 10 years and they've lived there the entire time. They have a cute house, several young(ish) kids, a lovely Kerry Blue Terrier - I've never met them but my friend who lives kitty-corner from me has. It's just shocking.
