Yay for the apartment, vw!
Ouch, P-C. I think that sort of accident when you're working very long hours is nature's way of telling you to slow down.
It's 91 degrees at my desk.
That's awful for the employees, but isn't it also bad for the books? My college library's thermostat was always set to refrigerate. I had graduate classes in one library's seminar rooms, and we wore coats and gloves winter and summer. They said it was because of the books, anyway.
It is bad for the books in the MMR, but those are common and can be replaced easily. The patrons do a lot more damage than the once-a-year-ish heat wave that we get here. The rare books have their own room with climate control, of course.
Hec and JZ, did you hear about the return of Futurama?
Oh, that rocks like a rocking thing that's swaying back and forth in a to-and-fro sort of way. 13 new eps, for reals? Another 6 1/2 hours of Zoidberg!!!!!!

Sssh. Don't say that in front of the books. No one likes to hear that he's common and can be replaced easily.

So I should keep quiet about the Great Shredder in the Sky?

But I can't! There is much to be done! And I've gotten fuck-all done today. I have a feeling Saturday is going to be some sort of grueling all-day marathon of collapsitude.
Kitty Addendum:
Apropos of a previous topic, they're both bug-catchers. The current count of what (we've seen) they've killed and sometimes eaten is 1 spider, 1 fly, half a dozen moths.
Bugpocalypse.
Also, we had to pop out and came home to find Trinian still propped on the arm of the armchair (where she'd been when we left) and Tzepesh & Ruthven on Trinian's couch blanket. Not a happy time for the fuzzy white cat...
Trinian wishes she could speak, just so that she had the word "whippersnappers" available to her.
That they're buggers is kinda awesome.
Odd. Just got an email from one my two exes from my Boston years. I had to update for the last 20 years. Still, it was good to hear from her, and her life turned out okay. (Which was a concern, since she was prone to depression.) She's married now, and just finished her MS in Library science and was working at one of the Harvard grad school libraries.
Also, just got back from Amoeba and they had a shrine up for my official Cute Record Store Girl Crush. She was sort of goth and mod at the same time, which is practically an oxymoron. I'm not certain, but the implication seemed to be a suicide. That sucks.
Oh, damn, dear. I'm so sorry for the Amoeba girl.
