I looked and I don't see how it is done in group pools. It may not be an option. I'll do some research, but maybe someone here knows more.

I'm pretty sure it's not possible to subgroup a pool -- it's pretty much just a big pool. I gather that flickr's idea (whether it actually works out in reality or not) is that photos will be tagged and/or put in sets elsewhere.
