I haven't packed anything. I've got some work to do in my online classroom at some point, but otherwise today is going to be all about prep. I have to get food for the cats, get the house presentable and write up details since Omnis is housesitting for us (bless him), make an extra house key, do laundry, and pack. I also have a chiro appointment. Oh, and I have to take my laptop and computer to the Apple Store genius bar because my stupid power cord died. I've only owned it for three months!
Poor Ginger! I wish I could leave my laptop after hearing that story, but I need it for my class. I have to send out a set of 15 feedback emails citing each student's work for the week by Tuesday night. Feh.
I am excited to see everyone tomorrow, though! I will be Sean's proxy hugger since Java has Suzi covered.
State St. has a number of excellent shops. There's one I plan on hitting up before prom that has a lot of nifty 1950's retro dresses. You're coming in a rental, right?
Cashmere and I are staying at the Sheraton, and we both have cars.
Yup. I'll want to check this place out.
Oh, that reminds me. ND and I will have a rental car, and we're planning to drive to HotR on Saturday, We can fit 2-3 people in the back seat if anyone would like a ride. (Scola, I'm looking at you, you handsome devil!)
Fuck. Checked my work email because am neurotic and find that our long delayed office move is now scheduled - for the day I get back. Which I assume means that we'll have to be packed and ready the day before. Ugh. I don't want to come in early! But I even less want somebody packing up my desk.
Oh bummer! Will you still have time to hang out with us on Monday and/or Tuesday, Brenda?
(Also, did aurelia give you her key?)
I haz keys!
If I do go in early, I'll probably want to do it afterhours anyway. Should probably contact someone and figure this out, but I really, really don't want to.
I'm home and I'm going to work awhile before trying again.
I have no idea what they were so interested in, unless they were wondering why I haven't replaced my large clunky laptop. I don't even know if they were really doing anything, or they just pulled it off the belt and forgot it. While waiting, I was making conversation and said, "Boy, this is a lot of work." The TSA guy said that I had no idea how much work they really had to do and that the threats were getting worse every day. I think I sprained my eyes, rolling them.
I got to the gate 5-10 minutes before the scheduled time and the plane was still sitting there, but they said they closed the door 10 minutes before the flight time. I'm afraid I was kind of a spectacle, sobbing behind the other poor suckers who didn't make it while still breathing heavily from sprinting from the escalator past 20 gates. I like flying. It's the part on the ground that will kill you.
Anyway, I'm now one of 2 standbys on the 7:55 flight and hope to get into Madison at 10:35. I do have a seat on the Milwaukee-Madison leg. Sail, I'll let you know if I have a seat when I know.
Ginger, that really sucks hard. I'm sending big vibes to the airline people to get you on that flight!
I've got sooo much to do before tomorrow. I'm stuck here until 6:00 or so tonight, then I have to run over to the store and see if I can find any decent tops (to wear with the skirt I have) or maybe even a dress, then head home and clean, do laundry, dishes, shower, pack, and try to get to sleep before 1:00 am. Then get up in the morning, take the car over to Jiffy Lube for an oil change, then over to the car wash for a scrub before 11:00 am (-ish), when we'll hopefully be on the road. That's what I get for being lazy last night and not doing at least half of that list.

Kathy, if you can't get the oil change, no biggie. We can take my car.
I need to do some laundry tonight and pack, but that's it.
