Kristin, leave it up as long as you want - I made it to share, after all!
[eta: And of course the bulk of the credit has to go to Scola for finding the song and playing it at Prom in the first place. And all the people who took & posted the pictures I shamelessly stole to make the darn thing.]
I've got speakers rented for Prom. It looks like I'll need someone to pick them up on Friday and return them on Monday. I even get to combine some business with Prom since I'm renting a model of speakers I'm thinking of buying to add to my rental inventory.
ND, we'll have the Minivan O' Ultimate Doom, and if the speakers are that's-no-moon-that's-a-space-station huge, we can take the bench out of the MvO'UD.
By my (imprecise) calculations, we should be rolling into Madison about 1:00-1:30 p.m. EST. Which...is WI on EST or CST, anyway?
CDT
Oh, sure, you people remembering whether it's daylight saving or not. Well, fie! Fie, I say!
The speakers will easily fit into the minivan. It's two speakers, a pair of tripod stands, and two cables.
Actually, I will usually make "Eastern" EST and "Central" CDT, irrespective of time of year. I just happened to be right in this case.

Then, assuming all goes according to plan, it should be fine
Sail, have you heard if I-39 up from Illinois is clear? That's my most likely route up to Madison.
As far as I know the only part of I-39 having problems in the southbound lanes just north of Madison. But, they're really only reporting on WI roads on the news, here, so I can't really speak to other states. If you do run into problems with 39, I recommend trying US51. It runs straight north to Madison from Memphis and parallels I-90/39. You should be able to hop back on to I-90/39 once you get to northern IL. The good thing is, that I-90 is still totally clear through the Rockford, Beloit, Janesville corridor. They're having flooding from the Rock River, but the interstate is far enough away it's not having any effect on it.
