Is there anyone arriving in Madison on Thursday? Ginger gets in around 2pm, I can ferry a couple other people if needed. Also, it would be nice to do dinner with those getting in early, if everyone's up to it.

I am! And I'm bringing Scola with me. I think some other Chicagoans were talking about Thursday as well.

Wonder if there's a pub quiz somewhere we could invade on Thursday?

Quaker Steak has a sort of pub quiz. People don't usually team up, althought they often do, it's usually individual players, but it's a lot of fun. There may be other places in town, but that's the only one I'm familiar with.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Crap.

A 43-mile stretch of westbound Interstate 94 from just north of Madison to Mauston is closed due to rising water on the Baraboo River.

Eastbound I-94 is closed at Wis. State Hwy. 82 in Juneau County. Westbound I-94 also is closed west of Johnson Creek at the Crawfish River bridge.

The Wisconsin State Patrol has closed northbound Interstate Hwy. 39 at Hwy. 151 north of Madison and southbound I-39 at Hwy. 82 in Marquette County.

In addition to the freeways, scores of state highways and county roads have been shut down, the patrol and the Department of Transportation said.

Drivers are strongly advised not to travel in the south central part of Wisconsin due to many flooded state and local highways, the State Patrol and Department of Transportation officials said.

Up-to-the-minute alerts and maps are posted on the Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation web site, www.dot.wisconsin.gov/travel/incident-alerts.htm. Drivers can also call1-800-762-3947.

Do things like this clear up in less than a week?

Generally, yes. What's the forecast looking like for this week.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I put a teeny tiny something in the kitty. I'm keeping my fingers crossed things dry up this week.

I do expect pictures to be posted frequently during the event on account of I can't be there in person.

Uhm, I sort of let my drivers license expire, so I kind of need to tag along with other people, and I'm not really in a position to ask other people to drive me around.

Having said all that, anyone interested in going to see Whad'Ya Know on Saturday morning? It looks like there may still be tickets available.
