I remember reading a kid's novel back in elementary school that was set in the 1950s or so and was all about a devastating flood and its aftermath, including the child protagonist and his family being rescued by a National Guard duck.

Boston has swans AND ducks.
We do, we do! And gay marriage!
Tom! That makes a perfect segue into the following:
BOSTON-ISTAS! I will be returning to your fair city next Friday, June 20. I'll be there through Thursday, June 26, when I leave. I'll be staying here this time. I would love to see people again, and if time and location permit, it'd be neat to do some pub trivia with Buffistas!

That's what I've always thought too, but that may be because the MST3K scene where they referenced "ride the Ducks" was a scene of a kiddie carnival/amusement park water ride with little duck shaped boats.
Heh, given where that is, P-C (and -istas), we don't really have an excuse to not go to Summer Shack this time. If P-C was a drinker, we'd have to hit Bukowski's as well.
Ooh, PC, that's right down the street from the Summer Shack which has awesome seafood (IMO).
