Me too! I can meet you in the lobby of your hotel if you like and we can make our way over together. I'll be leaving work (literally right across the river) at 5pm, should be there by 5:30 at the latest.
I'm out of work at four, or close to it, and I'm literally a walk up a hill and a couple blocks from the Omni Parkerhouse. Ordinarily, I'd say I'd meet P-C at a nearby bar, but, if I'm remembering correctly, you don't drink. Otherwise, I'd say let's all meet at Silvertone's, which is right around the corner from P-C's hotel.
Is there anyone who's going to be driving from Chicago on Friday? I'm still trying to work out plane tickets.
Sail, you may want to post in Press with our estimated total costs, the total you've collected so far, and your PayPal for future donations. We're running really short on time, and I don't want you getting stuck having to pony up a credit card to cover things in the interim.
To make life easy for P-C, why don't we meet in the lobby of the Parker House at 5:30? It'll be a nice walk over to Chinatown.

Me! And I'd love to either catch a ride with someone, or rent a car and give some other folks a ride. I'll be coming back mid-day on Sunday, most likely.

That sounds like a plan to me.
Cindy - do you know Boston enough to get to the Parker House? If you need to drive (as opposed to commuter rail) one of the end stations (i.e. Alewife, Braintree, Riverside) might be an option parking-wise.
Thanks for the reminder, Kristin. I scan this thread religiously, so I don't always think to post things in Press.

That's when I'd be likely to come back, too, and it looks like the flights to Chicago are about $150 cheaper than to Madison. I could chip in some if you rent a car and could give me a ride. (I'm still not 100% sure yet that I'm going -- I still have to consider the cost and the dates.)
it looks like I'm not going to be able to afford to go. le sigh. We're losing our deadbeat roommate and his always-pay-early brother. Over a misunderstanding with the laundry for goodness sake. I asked D if J apologized and asked to stay what would he say. D said, "I'd say I'm sorry but you called me a f---ing idiot in my own home and I can't tolerate you living here after that." I really can't argue. I was there for a lot of it and J was shouting and posturing, it was scary and I'm glad he's moving. But I am very very sad the refund of their security deposit and the balance of May's rent will eat up the money I was planning to spend on the f2f.
here's hoping I can make it to the first prom in a yurt!
