To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice, with pie.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

So...that'd be a "no" on bringing the baby, then?

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I just mean in conjuction with the solstice, "skyclad" sounds more properly pagan than "nekkid."

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Unless you're a redneck pagan.

Ann, that's a ferret.

And you don't have to go far out of town to find a very, very different culture.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

So...that'd be a "no" on bringing the baby, then?

IME, babies are very pro-nekkid.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I'm just wondering who or what we're going to use as the Maypole.

(Which is more for Beltane, but the discussion is funny, so I'll shut up now.)

Yeah. A friend worked as a nanny in New Glarus. Lot's of yuppies live there. The downtown is done in Cute Swiss Village style....

I was thinking more in terms of what would be at a cruising 1-year old's grabbing level in a roomful of nekkid grownups...

The downtown was done before yuppies existed. Not to say it wasn't done for cuteness sake, after all, they have things like the Willem Tell festival every year. Also, Heidi Fest, too. They used to have a lace factory there, it's where I bought the fabric for my wedding dress. It's also got one of the best microbrews in the state.
