Spike: Lots of fuss over one girl. Other things to do around here--important things. Angel: You know that whoosh thing you do when you're suddenly not there anymore? I love that.

The status is NOT quo.

Epic, I was just teasing. Sorry if that didn't translate.

I, too, love the Washington Walks bonny linked to -- the guide was a great storyteller and we had fun when we did the ghost one when my niece was visiting.

Call me SoCal tenderfoot, but is a walking tour a practical idea in January?

No, I got it. That's why you got a "Hee".

Now I'm suddenly concerned that someone from San Diego, TX will be indignant with me for badmouthing them. heh.

Maybe. The weather could be anything from freezing/snow to sunshine/60 degrees to rainy/cold. One of the nice things about those tours is that you don't have to sign up or pay up in advance -- you can just show up and pay the guide at the time of the tour.

I gotta get myself back to DC for a visit! It's been about 8 years since I was last there, and I think it's my favorite city in the US (outside of Chicago, of course). All those free museums and history galore, and now, with Buffistas, too!

not your mom's socks.

Or will she make the first move, and he'll run away screaming?

Um... don't know if even Raq saw, but I'm pretty sure she SWAKed Mal when they hugged goodbye. My eyes popped out of my hed, so I have no proof of running and screaming post. Give her 12 years... by that point, she'll be a whole different sprog. Probably will wear her GCS babybat t to prom or something.

Ann, that's a ferret.

It isn't a bad time, especially for Northern types. The weather is pretty mild by Northern standards ("cold" means the high didn't reach 40), and you don't have the crowds that run from about mid-March until well after Labor Day.
