I'd rather stay home and watch television. It's often funnier than killing stuff.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Hey, I'm always the one that gets stiffed on the food too! Sparky, mah sistah!

Librarian Warlord

mah sistah!

I'm in good company, then. They did, eventually, try to make things right by taking something off the bill and presenting some desserts for the table. But I am one of those people who absolutely refuses, even after they've apologized and tried to make it up to me to say, "it's okay," because bad service isn't.

I don't know why, but I'm the one in the family who has been served food with glass in it (twice) and who was seated in a chair that collapsed under me. The last glass incident made my father laugh and laugh because when he pointed out that they'd just served the only lawyer at the table glass shards, suddenly all our meals were free (and there were 18 of us there for a birthday).

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Bayistas and those who have visited SF may be interested to know that the Washington Square Bar & Grill (aka Washbag) closed on New Year's Day. Explanations are not forthcoming. Sadness is abounding.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Wow, that sucks, Juliana.

He's okay. Obviously, he was in a bit of shock when he heard. M & I were with him, and we were at the Belltower when he got the call, so Barbie kept pouring drinks into him.

However, he's in the middle of trying to move his wine bar, so this might work out to the net good. New location (Polk & Broadway), updated decor and menu, longer hours - so this will give him the kick needed to focus on this project. Hopefully.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

No way! That place is an institution! I remember reading Herb Caen's stories about long late lunches with friends at the Washbag when I was a freshman in high school, and it was a long-established institution even back then.

I...just... closed? How is that even possible?

Poor Gary.
