Willow: Something evil-crashed to earth in this. Then it broke out and slithered away to do badness. Giles: Well, in all fairness, we don't really know about the "slithered" part. Anya: No, no, I'm sure it frisked about like a fluffy lamb.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

I just got accepted in the American Library Association's Copyright Scholar Program! This means that they'll be flying me back to Washington, DC, in early October for training. I don't have all the details yet (like where specifically I'll be or how much extra time I'll have), but would love to connect with folks in the area.

On the down side, this pretty much definitely knocks out the Seattle thing. On the up side, whoot!!!

eta: I'm sure this will be xposty somewhere, but don't know where yet.

Thanks Laga. I'm pretty tickled at this point. And totally ready for good news, as this summer has been of the crap.

So, um, I'm sure that all the SFistas are off having fun with AmyLiz or plotting the big weekend, but it looks like I'm probably going to be in your fair city October 24-28 for a conference.

I have no idea what kind of free time I'm going to have, but I imagine evenings will be free, and I think I will make Saturday evening free for some sort of something. I'll have to spend more time looking at the conference schedule, to figure out which workshops/sessions are important to me. But, I wanted to let you know that it looks like this trip is on, unless my profs won't let me out of class on Thursday.

I'm SO excited about this. On MANY levels.

It is looking like I will be in New York very briefly around Oct. 22nd.

Ok. More info. I will definitely be available Saturday evening (my workshop, if I get into the one I want, will end at 4pm). Then it looks like I'm gonna take a red-eye home Monday night, so I'll be available for hanging out Sunday after noon, and Monday until, well, I'll have to be at the airport by 4pm.

So, yay! I hope we can work it out so I can see bunches of people and more of the city than I saw last time I was out there.

The status is NOT quo.

Yay libkitty! Congrats!

I'm so envious of all the traveling Buffistas. Glad my peeps are having together time, though.
