OK, not always pretty, but pretty darn cool!
I love that Millenium Park has turned into a big gathering place downtown. My mom's coming in for a week's stay in August, and I'm taking her to the Pritzker Pavillion for the weekly Grant Park Symphony concert (they're doing Beethoven's Pathetique that Wednesday). We'll probably end up parking out in Forest Park and taking the El in for the day.
For me the OT Meeting Place will always be the steps of the Art Institute. That's why I'm glad Millenium Park is The New Meeting Place because it makes between the lions a lot less crowded.
I saw one of these tour buses in Chi-Town. I totally need to go. [link]
Although, thanks to brenda, I've already seen the Biograph theater.
ooh ... a gangster tour! an opportunity for costumes!
I forsee flapper dresses and zoot suits!
no, no - zoot suits were from the '40s. Not sure if there was a special name for the suits from the '20s - lounge suits? something louche, for sure.
You still knew what I meant.
Malcolm X!!!
AKA Chicago Red! (right? or was that Red Foxx?)
We have a winner! Except he was "Detroit Red". Foxx was Chicago.
