I'm very much in favor of Chicago being in the running again. I'll still put together pimpage for St. Louis, if people would be interested
F2F 4: Too Much Candy, Never Enough Mojitos.
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: Madison, WI from June 20-22 2008! Official website.
Ok. Looks like in order of cheapest it goes 1) KC 2) St. Louis 3) Chicago 4) Nashville 5) Minneapolis
Cheapest what?
Flights for me.
The only reason Minneapolis is the most expensive is that there's no competing SW flights.
None are over $260 round trip.
Also, in case anyone was wondering, there is no access to platform 9 3/4 in Chicago's Union Station.
At least, I couldn't find it.
Aside from airfares, one of the advantages of the better-populated cities is more non-hotel options for people who might not be able to swing both hotel and travel.

I know. *pout*
I'm in favor of Chicago, because that means I'll definitely be able to attend the F2F.
Chicago's great, though I think people counting on cheap-yet-decent hotel rooms are doomed to disappointment. (I stayed at the 2002 F2F hotel in Evanston a couple years later on a business trip and both it and the surrounding area had gone seriously downhill.)
Minneapolis is a really good walking city if you stay downtown, as is St. Louis. Nashville doesn't strike me as such, but it does have a lot of attractions, and holds the possibility of an Opryland Hotel stay where everything we need is under one roof.
