Yes, it's terribly simple. The good guys are always stalwart and true, the bad guys are easily distinguished by their pointy horns or black hats, and, uh, we always defeat them and save the day. No one ever dies, and everybody lives happily ever after.

Maybe I take myself out to lunch there tomorrow!

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Hey, speaking briefly of Chicago, there's very strong possibility that I will be up there for a couple days after August 10, trying to get my visa sorted out at the British consulate there. If so, I would dearly love to see people.

This is of course assuming that everything will, in fact, work out before my stupid course begins, but I am holding out hope.

The status is NOT quo.

Nora, cousin Kerry is going to be joining us for sure. I'll forward her the link to the new restaurant.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Had to cancel train ticket.

Everyone is fine - I'll explain in LJ.

Glad to know I'm not the only one, Debet.

That sucks, Aimee. I'll keep my fingers crossed things may change again.

Anything any of us can do to help?

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Thanks, guys. Not really.

Basically, Dad has declared that he is not subsidizing my life so that I can take vacations and travel. Otherwise, he wants rent. If I can afford the train ticket ($100), I can afford rent ($400).

I'm trying to calm down and *not* think of all the years my sister lived here and travelled far more extensively than to CHI-fucking-CAGO and didn't pay one red cent in rent. I'm trying to see it from their eyes, but ya know? I can't. I'm fucking pissed off.

I'm so sorry for disappointing everyone. Maybe something will change in the next week or so, but I highly doubt it.
