If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yeah, I should be able to manage that, vw.

Thanks, Dana! We can always get a cab somewhere if there's something we shouldn't miss.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Okay, according to the hotel, you're close to both Emeril's and Mulate's. I've never been to Emeril's, but Mulate's has good food, and also has a band and dancing.

The Quarter is not *too* far away, though personally, I would not be dying to walk around in the heat and humidity. It looks like the hotel might have a shuttle (if they have any sense, they do). You can get to several of the Brennan family restaurants. The most famous of theirs is Commander's Palace, of course, but that one's uptown.

Mr. B's Bistro is at 201 Royal Street (Royal and Iberville). Palace Cafe is at 605 Canal Street (Canal and Chartres). Bourbon House is at 144 Bourbon (Bourbon and Iberville). All of those are within a few blocks on the side of the Quarter closest to downtown and the Convention Center area.

You're also close to the Aquarium, if you have time for that. I haven't been since the storm, but it was pretty amazing before then.

vw, I'm sure I can make one of those weekends. Anyone got a couch or piece of floor available for one of them?

Also if you're in the Quarter, The Court of Two Sisters is at 613 Royal St. and K-Paul's Louisiana Kitchen is at 416 Chartres St.

Yay! I think if you come the second weekend, Anne W is coming up too.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Make sure to check the hours on all restaurants too, Sparky. A lot of places are still having trouble with staffing. I know K-Paul's is only open for dinner, something like 5:30-10. Bourbon House is definitely open for lunch.

Is that a recent development, Dana? I didn't go there during the f2f, but I've eaten lunch at K-Paul's on two previous trips to New Orleans.

It must be. We were looking at going when we were in town for 4th of July, but the webpage says dinner only, 5:30 - 9:30.

Unless the webpage is wrong, which is always possible.
