Suzi, you might be better off metroing in (say, drive to West Falls Church, then grab the train towards New Carollton to Metro Center, switch to the Red Line towards Shady Grove and get off at Dupont Circle. Should take about 45 mins) Traffic in to the city on Fridays can be a nightmare, as is parking in Dupont. Luckily, that Nationals aren't at home, which frells the traffic immensely.

Damn, I miss DC. I must see if I can combine a trip to the NoVA/DC area with a visit to Mom's in NJ next summer.

The Metro's just like BART, only bigger & with friendlier station agents. I lurve the Metro.
There's some restaurant right off a Metro stop that meara recommended where I had a meal I lurved. It was one of those super-steep-escalator stations, and the restaurant had one name, like Dine or Food, something like that. Full meal, excellent food, pint of IPA, dessert, outta there for, like, $15.
