Happy Birthday. Jon!! I have to give my regrets, as I won't be able to make it tonight. Not only is Jason away, but today is payroll day, so I can't duck out to take care of the dog. I have skating right after work, so I have to fly home right after to walk her and I realized I'll barely make it there in time for a bite of dessert even if I rush there.

El Cholo is a GREAT restaurant and you will have excellent company. Wish my own personal stars had aligned so I could be there.

Well, to be honest, it's looking more and more like people who thought they could come can't, so I have a counter-suggestion. Jon's getting out of work early enough that I'm going to pick him up regardless. I think at this point that I'll bring him back to Pasadena with me. Robin, do you think you could come up the hill and meet for dinner at El Portal if we bumped it later? I haven't heard for sure from the Miracleborns, but otherwise I'm concerned Jon will be stuck just with ND and me for his bday dinner.

That sounds possible. Later and closer allows me to do dog chores and stuff--and it would be so fun to finally meet you!
