If I recall correctly, Atlanta is the hub for Delta? I'd check with them first. I can get a ticket out of Chicago for around $200 right now. If I try to fly from Madison? $400. Eep! I think I'll take the bus to O'Hare, it's around $25. Talk about savings.

Atlanta is the hub for Delta?

It is, I just called my travel agency. But Delta is a little pricey for international flights, darn them.

Milwaukee, too - about $215 right now for a handful of non-stops.

SA, I'd wait for a sale. They definitely will come down.

I was going to wait to buy my ticket, but I may just pony up now. I can't see the prices going much lower!

ETA: Do you think the prices from O'Hare will go down much? They just seem so ricockulously reasonable right now.

Oh, also - Clark Howard, radio guy in Atlanta, has a special page on his site for travel deals for Atlanta: [link] Definitely worth checking frequently.

ETA: For instance -

Round-trips on Northwest to Halifax, Nova Scotia are $176 on any available day and on seasonal trips taken over the next 10 months.

Let me check with the hotel today to make sure nothing has come up since last week before you make reservations.

That's probably as good as it gets from Chicago, Sail.

Atlanta is the main Delta hub. The main discount airline serving Atlanta is AirTran, and it's usually AirTran sales that drive the market.

As Brenda says, Clark Howard is the travel guru. I subscribe to the e-mail list that you see on her link. (He's also a consumer advocate. It's a rare Atlantan who hasn't begun a sentence with "Clark Howard says.")

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Looks like Delta currently has a bunch of DC-Atlanta flights from around $220. That price will probably be going down in a little bit, though.

Awesome! I need to visit Atlanta more often!

Yes, you do!

I checked with Melissa, and the weekend of May 4 is still fine with The Highland Inn.
