Brendon is taller than looming.

Well, he has the advantage of height ... but he smiles a lot (which is kind of anti-loom).

information libertarian

Taking over a theater for OMWF? Brilliant. Even if it doesn't work, people could descend on Rocky Horror.

Go Ginger!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Ginger, does the hotel not have elevators?

Um, not that Brendon-assistance wouldn't be lovely. But schlepping luggage and food trays and drink crates and such up even one flight of stairs might be best avoided if possible.

Also? I am SO up for Rocky Horror, and YES on OMWF singalong. Thanks, Ginger.

Old hotel. No elevators.

We won't have to deal with stairs at all to take stuff to the ballroom, though. There's a service entrance right to the parking lot.

The status is NOT quo.

Damn. Victor & Lea will be out here doing West Coast poetry stuff that late, including presenting workshops at my school on the 16th and 17th. Unfortunately, that's going to make attending difficult for any of us. Was the March 24th date not a possibility at all, Ginger? (Yes, asking selfishly. But because I love Buffista goodness!)

In not!selfish terms, do we have a guestimate for total cost, then? If it is $1175 for ballroom + cleanup, it would be great if we could figure out how much more we'll need for food/liquor so we can start fundraising ASAP. Ginger, are you willing to be PayPal point, or should we work through someone else?

I did check March 24th. There's a wedding in the ballroom.

For food, I was rather thinking of getting some frozen appetizers like Costco's miniquiches, some fruit trays, some vegetable trays, cheese and maybe cold cuts and bakery rolls. Is that too simple? No one ever seems to get too involved in the prom food, because most people eat earlier.

Can someone come up with a list of what we'll need at the bar? I really don't know how to estimate that. We also need to add some beer and wine, at least, for the hospitality suite.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Are we only looking at the one hotel, or are there other options? I am fairly certain that we won't be able to attend because TCG only gets one week vacation in his first six months at the job, and we have made promises to visit relatives, so mainly just curious.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Simple food sounds good.

She says, not even having checked her calendar to see if attending will be possible.
