That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I think that's a great idea.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

OK, I set up a Mr. Poll. Does this look OK to everyone? F2F Date/Region Poll!

t edit: I figure we can say, if there's a clear winner from this, we go with whatever that is. If there's not one clear winner, we go to city pimpage and then vote on "Which of these would you prefer?"

If there is a clear winter, then anyone wanting to promote a city in the chosen region can start calling hotels and getting quotes, etc.

It looks like two people already voted. Does that mean everyone thinks it's OK and I should put the link in Press? Anything that should be changed before that?

Because books.

It looks okay to me. I haven't voted yet, though, but will, if that's what we're doing.

Looks good to me, Hil!

I voted. Looks like a bunch of people did already, which is good.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

I voted, but there is a problem with some of the South dates. Passover starts at sundown April 1 and ends at sundown April 9th, taking out one weekend all together and making things tricky for the other one.(If we were to go to the F2F on March 30, we'd have to leave fairly early Sunday morning)

The status is NOT quo.

I just wanted to take this moment to thank a few people:

  • to Suzi, who picked me up from the airport and took me across the Bay Bridge during Friday night rush hour and then joined me in drunken revelry Saturday and crashed with me Saturday night.
  • to Javachik, who came out Saturday night despite having the beginnings of a cold and then also joined me in drunken revelry and crashing in a heap on Juliana's bed that night. Also for her tip about avoiding the Southwest security line at the Oakland Airport.
  • to Deb, who joined me for dinner despite having had a hell of a week
  • to P-C, who came out to dinner and hung out with the drunken silly women, which can be trying when one doesn't drink.
  • to Hec, who made me yummy waffles, and to Hec & JZ for sharing their home and their cutiehead baby
  • to Emily, who joined me for waffles and great conversation

...and most of all...

  • to Juliana, who took me in, kept me laughing, took me shopping and touring North Beach, took care of me, and was generally an amazing friend for the duration, despite being sick as a dog the whole time. Thank you, love. I will pay you back somehow someday.

You all made this weekend not only bearable, but actually fun. Hugs.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Oh, I'm glad you got to see Emily!

You all made this weekend not only bearable, but actually fun. Hugs.

Hugs back, blondie.

Our wings are not tired.

Awww, Kristin, it was much fun! And it was nice to meet P-C too. Passing out in a heap was fun--and poor Juliana--she's got another toothbrush in her cabinet and um, also, my watch (prolly under her bed) or in D-cat's kittybox.
