All right, yes, date and shop and hang out and go to school and save the world from unspeakable demons. You know, I wanna do girlie stuff!

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Oh, that is sad. I just made a reservation for the Vegas one, but it's not the same thing.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Hmm. That location might actually be okay, Vortex, based on some googling. I admit to not knowing much about Faubourg Marigny, although I still maintain that the walking might get a little tiresome.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

The LV chef and much of the staff are (or were as of April) imports from NOLA, so although you won't be able to get a window table with a view of a lovely mournful graveyard, you will be able to get a proper meal. Also, don't miss the Museum of the American Cocktail.

Hec and I stayed in the Marigny on our honeymoon and one of the doctors I work for lived there during med school/residency; we loved visiting and she loved her 3-4 years there. Funky and artsy and, IIRC, close enough to the Quarter that it didn't sustain devastating flood damage. If you go there, keep an eye out for the ramshackle anarchist pirate coffeehouse.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Vortex, friends of mine stayed at the Elysian Fields Inn and it was very nice. It's not far from some sketchiness, but nowhere in NO is far from sketchiness, really, and it's not like you have to go through a bad neighborhood to get to the quarter or anything. There used to be a sushi place a block away, and it's conveniently close to the R Bar and environs.

I like the Marigny, even if that's where Royal Fingerbowl says they keep the poison and the filth. Or maybe because of that.

PIMPERS - would a form make this easier for you? Debetesse has one from last year.

Hey, Debetesse, could you possibly send me a copy of the form Aimee's talking about? (I'm fairly certain Northampton isn't going to be able to meet our hotel needs, but I haven't given up quite yet!)

Could I get a form too? Thanks.
