I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Tom, no idea. I haven't even figured out how I'm getting to DC from JFK and back yet.

So, um, what's the cheapest way to do that?

sarameg - Jun 27, 2006 4:26:03 pm PDT #2915 of 10002

Bus? I don't know anything about them except NYCers have used them to visit me (stepping off early in B'more.)

I don't know that I'll be able to get down to DC those days. Crappity.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I think Trudy's taken the Chinatown bus a time or two.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Chinatown Bus is good, I've always googled to find them.

Greyhound has a special that is on the first page of the website but doesn't pop up when you check schedules and fares.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

juliana, I've heard good things about Apex Bus (although they're all about the same), and it's cheap. $30 or $35 r/t if you reserve in advance.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Emily, we get back on the 4th, otherwise I'd offer our guest room.

Once you have an idea for a group gathering, I'd like to try to join in. I'm not sure what K-Bug's practice schedule will be that week.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Kristin: Cass, I would still like to take a brief jaunt to Portland sometime soon(ish)--maybe a solo two-day trip or something. Would I be able to crash with you so you could show me your fair city then? No definite plans yet--just something I was pondering.
Cass: Absolutely. Mi casa es .... well, still mi casa but you are quite invited to come stay for a couple of days. [edit: Eh, I hate when "tone" doesn't carry across right. What I meant to say, it would be lovely to have you here for a couple of days and I am even getting to be a decent tour guide.] Are you having any ideas of when soon-ish might be?
Should I be wondering at the lack of a comment or reply here, Kristin?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

DH always takes the Washington Deluxe to DC. (Me, I'm a comfort snob and always take Amtrak, even though it's monstrously overpriced. But I hate buses.)

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Cass, absolutely nothing being hinted. I literally haven't had time to reply in the past few days with all of my running around. I go back to Cali tomorrow--let me get in touch with you then.
