We could just split the hanging. We'll get her Sunday night, you guys get her Monday.
Going back to ancient history here....
That's fine by me. I haven't gone through all nine lives yet, so multiple hangings won't stop me.
If the idea of a BBQ is still enticing, feel free to do so. I don't mind not getting pool time.
What's the other kitty's name?
Ruthven. (Pronounced "Roothven", because I never knew that Ruthven was supposed to be pronounced "Rivven".)
So we have Trinian (the World's Dumbest Cat, but a very sweet girl), Tzepesh, and Ruthven. Yes, we like wacky cat names.
Years ago we had a cat named Marple-Newtown (after a town in Pennsylvania). A contender for dumbest cat in the world ... but beautiful and very sweet.
How is Trinian adapting to having the boys around?
How is Trinian adapting to having the boys around?
It's hard to tell, at this point. The boys are being kept in one room right now, and Trinian will walk up to the closed door of that room, meow, and sometimes hiss. The times that I've been in the room with the boys when she's hissed, they've both looked at the door inquisitively, but don't seem frightened or agressive. We're going to try introducing them face-to-face in a few days.
(This morning while visiting the boys, I explained to them that they were hearing Trinian, who is the Senior Cat of the household, and that she's very sweet but a little dim. And that they were both very obviously smarter than her, so they need to be patient with her while she tries to get used to them. They both gave me the

ankle-nudges in response.)

Hee. It sounds like the boys won't be too interested in challenging her. Or if they follow your advice, they'll at least be sneaky about it. I'm glad you are enjoying your new kitties.
Paging Maria, Miracleborns, Sean and GF, Gloomcookie and GF, and any other LAistas who'd like to join--I've decided to tell my other engagement that ND and I have an out-of-town guest coming, so we're going to skip out.
So...
SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY! ONE DAY ONLY! (Sorry, got my Monster Truck overexcited voice going there...)
Sunday, my place--3PM until whenever. Snacks at 3, swimming until it gets too chilly, cookout on the patio around 6. And Maria whenever she arrives! I'll send an evite to be sure everyone gets the details. If you'd like to come and don't get an evite by tonight, email my profile addy so I can add you.
Hope to see you there!
You'll pay for the whole seat, but you'll only use the edge.

I've heard the same applies to teething toddlers.
IME, teething toddlers will just as often put the whole force of their jaw behind the bite.
Oh Kristin, the party sounds really fun, but we are going to be visiting my FiL this weekend, so we won't make it.
