MW, I do, though it's not very active. She's welcome to join, though. It's an lj community called teacher_oasis.
Hope to see you too. Really not sure how I'm going to juggle this, though.
Plan what to do, what to wear (you can never go wrong with a corset), and get ready for the next BuffistaCon: Madison, WI from June 20-22 2008! Official website.

So Cal peeps, how far is Huntington Beach from folks? Looks like that is where we will be the second weekend of July.

Huntington is in the OC. Not that far from LA proper.
Kristin, I want to see you for sure! I've got a friend visiting the weekend of the 24th (how does all the free time fill up so fast??), but I'd be available on the 26th and 27th for sure, and probably the evening of the 25th as well. As for halfway between Boston and New York... how about Northampton! (I could travel to Boston to see folks without difficulty, and New York would probably be doable too, but any chance to lure people to my lovely city...)
Weighing in on the date discussion -- if we do the 3rd week in May again, i won't be there, as it will be the birthday weekend of the big 3-5.
Pretty pics, Kristin!
I'm pretty much echoing what flea said about NC. Our area is v. car oriented. The new hotel on Franklin St. will be open by then, but I suspect it will be out of our price range, though given that they're calling it a "premiere luxury boutique hotel."
Our area has a lot of cool stuff, it's just scattered. Mass transit is laughable, and mass transit on the weekend is damn near nonexistent.
eta if we were to do it here, it would have to be post graduation, which as pointed out is around Mother's Day. The town clears out nicely during the summer, but it is hot.

true, but if they are new, they may be able to work with us on the prices.
Kate, I would love to meet in Northampton, especially since I have another non-buffista couple I'd like to see there. My only concern would be that anyone counting on the train for transportation might have issues.
Then again, I haven't really heard from anyone else specifically, so maybe I'll just come visit you! :-)
I'm going to rent a car, so I'll have my own wheels.

also true. I'll keep an eye out, and get in touch when they've opened.
Los Angeles has pretty disfunctional public transportation and we did fine here getting folks around in cars.
