ND is indeed buried until the 17th. He's opening four shows at the moment, so pictures will likely follow then.
I have a few pictures here from the F2F, but I have to admit they're mostly landscape at Alcatraz and Winchester House. I'm sorry!
ND and Pete will have the good pic stash, I promise!
Hey, Kristin, I actually really enjoyed the pics. It's probably a good job I didn't go to Alcatraz because I'd have blown my whole memory card on good art reference and left nothing for F2F. You peeps should be thankful... well, except for the ones who are gonna be blackmailed.
Good pics, Kristin! Pretty background color too.
Thanks!
No, Aims, no bird porn. Alas.
good art reference
Pete, you should check out this book, Angels In The Architecture. A couple of years ago I took an illicit midnight self-guided tour of the main building. It is such an amazing place.
Since ND is out of commission, I'll say it this year.
Shouldn't we start considering locations for next year's F2F? It's the East Coast's turn.
Also, 2007 will finish two rounds of Central-West-East. Do we want to consider something else for 2008? F2F UK? F2F cruise? I'm not wedded to the idea, but thought I'd toss it out as a thought.
The last doesn't need to be answered right away. But if we want to do something special (and likely more expensive than the typical F2F), we should decide extra-early to allow people more time to save up.
I would certainly like to put out a proposal for my fair city (Salem MA), how does that start? Do we decide on a date first? Do I get hotel proposals? Do we decide on a place first then dates? Can I get RFP info for hotels? (mostly, what are our average night stays so I can bring that to hotel event coordinators?) I want to do this right.
Do I just start pitching?
And, I would like to pitch Boston. I've got all the same questions that Nora does.
I suspect it is a
tad
early to start the city pimpage, but it's not too early for the city proponents to start gathering info. Basically, what makes your city great? What kinds of things/activities does it have that Buffistas might like? How easy/expensive is it to get there/get around? Look for some good hotels with Buffista amenities (hospitality suite, room for Prom, wireless internet, handicapped accessible, etc.) and get some general prices or even an actual proposal.
