Our wings are not tired

My parents are so far in denial about the world it hurts. My mom has been recommending to my niece and her step brother that they go into the Army for training and money for college. Mom didn't believe it when I told her that was pretty much sending them directly into the war in Iraq. She honestly thought the military would just train them and give them money for college.

t hits head on wall

Wow.

...she really hasn't made that 'Join the army, travel the world, meet interesting people and kill them' connection? Wow.

It has more to do with the fact that she forgets we have a war going on.

Mom and Dad met in the Canadian Airforce.

Holy cow.

...'kay. I guess it's probably more difficult to forget that when you're actually in the Middle East, or something.

I would have to print it out and mail it. Mom doesn't use computers.

On a related note, this wasn't very cheery reading today.
