A week ago I was in jail.
WTF?
ND was on the Alcatraz tour. Not real jail.
Oh, lord, of course. Heh.
I still have yet to see a pic of Em behind bars.
All your SA are belong to me! We went to my sushi restaurant, and then (in deference to my old fogeyness) we came home, and are now curled up on the sofa in our jammies, watching Indecision 2004 while Ozzie crawls on us.
YAY.
A week ago I had a baby.
I'm book-editing and not really anywhere, but I was pointed at a geneology discussion.
My maternal grandmum, the Brit, summed our family up perfectly. She once told me "Your mother's family - us - were the people who sat around in English country houses during the nineteen thirties, discussing the Jewish problem. Your father's family, bless them, were the Jewish problem."
They adored my father, as it happens. But it's an odd pedigree.
Back to editing and over and out. juliana, please let me know if I'm driving you tomorrow, or what.
What a whacked-out day. I took some (daytime!) cold medicine on an empty stomach, and had to leave work early because the room got all swirly and I couldn't think straight. While I was sleeping it off, Lulu (who is considered an honorary Buffista by some of y'all) proceeded to SNEAK and eat all of our boxer Pippin's dinner, in approximately thirty seconds. (Because of the sneaking, you see.) Since this is about five times the amount of food she normally eats, she got very, very ill. She was howling in pain (OMG!) and kept trying to throw up, but couldn't. So we took her to the emergency vet, and they said that she was a textbook case of a dog who had eaten way too much. They X-rayed her abdomen to make sure her stomach hadn't twisted, and they said that half her abdomen was taken up by her stomach. Apparently, sometimes when dogs eat too much, they get to the point where they can't throw up. So they're keeping her overnight on fluids and pain meds, and they say she should be able to come home in the morning.
Oh, Lu. The combination of gluttony and the insatiable desire to eat Pippin out of existence so that she can be the only dog again have made for a bad night for all of us.
Poor li'l pig dog!
