Journeyman is longer than Faulty Towers, The Prisoner and The Office I think.
I find myself wondering if the US will move more towards a model where shorter series rule. They would have to considerably reduce costs to make short projects profitable, though. Can't see it happening.
So how does anyone know when a series finale is a SERIES FINALE?
It's advertised as Last In The Series, generally.
Journeyman is longer than Faulty Towers, The Prisoner and The Office I think.
Not the Prisoner. It had 17 episodes; Journeyman had 13.
Damn. I wasn't absolutely sure on Prisoner as it just seems to go on forever. And ever. And ever.
And The Office has 13 too, if you count the Christmas special.
They could package Journeyman and Daybreak together in a DVD boxed set. I'd definitely buy that. (Yes, I know different companies probably own the shows, and other than Moon Bloodgood and a time travel conceit, they have little in common, but they were still both great shows that got progressively better, and were canceled before their time. And, ironically, neither aired on FOX.)
IMDB says:
Fox TV and the CW networks announced Tuesday that they have decided not to produce pilots of many proposed television programs under consideration. They also said that, as an additional cost-cutting measure, they would abandon numerous projects that had been in development.
If Dollhouse is a goner then that'll set some kind of record.
20th made Journeyman. That one will probably happen. Touchstone made Day Break and wow did I hate that show.
I love the fearmongering about Dollhouse. Silly.
Tamara - "Day Break" got a lot better as the show went on. The final eps were pretty good.
I don't think it's entirely silly, T. It's $1m an ep more expensive than Firefly. It was supposed to be a Fall show, but if the strike continues it won't meet that timeframe. It's with a network which spent $10m or so on Firefly's pilot, then threatened not to continue with the project, then refused to air the pilot first.
