Thanks, Beverly!

There will be a lot more prizes, eventually. With the holidays and all, it's been hard to connect with folks to get the details ironed out.

Also, I appreciate you pointing people to the site. I've been trying to figure out how to spread the word about our project. There's so much craziness (for lack of a better word) out there about this strike and I'm trying to avoid getting entangled in all of that.

Kristen, do you have any contact with the Fans4Writers folks? Their website still says to send pencils, and it seems to me that your site could easily replace that link.

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

The link at the top right should be transfered to the site, IMHO. If you get some banners and whatever together I'll stick them up places, also, and I'm sure others would.

I looked more at Youtube today, as it's often cited as The Future. They've started rolling out advertising revenue sharing, and whilst some of the top content which has ads on is indy stuff, a majority of it is: Sony BMG, Warner Bros, Universal, CBS...

F4W is closely aligned with United Hollywood and there are some "political" issues there. Plus I think they're doing their own auction now to pay for the skywriting thing.

Our project was mentioned in their forums. I think that's about as much support as we should expect from that particular corner of the world wide web.

ETA: Thanks for reminding me, Kevin! I've been meaning to make up banners or buttons or whatever. I'll put that on my To Do list for tomorrow.

Cheers. I just asked one of the F4W peeps if she could put the Cash for the Crew thing up after the pencil thing closes down (which apparently is finally going to happen soon), seems like it should happen.

Wow. That's unexpected good news. Thanks!

Of course, I just realized it's Wednesday. Which means, if shit goes down again, it will happen precisely three hours from now. (hee)

Never fall in love with somebody you actually love.

F4W are going to set up a BTL page with the various groups linked (plus what they are doing) in place of the pencils thing, apparently. Huzzah!

So Huckabee. Completely insane?

Former Governor Mike Huckabee of Arkansas today professed his support for the striking television writers union just a few hours before he was expected to board a plane to for a taping of the Jay Leno show where he will face a vocal picket line of striking writers.

Mr. Leno's program is returning to the air for the first time since a long hiatus for the strike. Speaking to reporters, Mr. Huckabee said he was unaware that he would be crossing picket lines and believed that he the program had reached a special agreement with the union.

Although crossing picket lines might not be unusual for most Republican candidates, Mr. Huckabee has waged an unusual populist campaign on economic issues, stressing his empathy with the anxieties of working people. On Wednesday, he said he identified with the striking television workers as an author himself and believed they deserved a share of the proceeds from the sale of their work.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Well he is completely insane, but I think this is a case of stupid. The simplest explanation is that he can't tell the difference between Leno and Letterman.
