We could do a poll with a selection of titles for Allyson! One where people could vote a bunch of times to run up their favorite choice.
The Minearverse 5: Closer to the Earth, Further from the Ax
[NAFDA] "There will be an occasional happy, so that it might be crushed under the boot of the writer." From Zorro to Angel (including Wonderfalls, The Inside and Drive), this is where Buffistas come to anoint themselves in the bloodbath.
It could be like thread-naming. New title every 10,000 posts.
Either that, or someone else gets to be Fandom's Bitch every 10,000 posts.
For what it's worth, even though I wholeheartedly support the effort I'd feel more comfy with Allyson identifying herself as a member of Buffistas.org rather than a shortened title making it seem as if the release is something we as a collective put together. I'd rather err on the side of not assuming that we're all of one mind about the strike and what shows of support are appropriate.
I just want to be careful about the wording.
I can see that. How about "suffering because of the AMPTP's failure to bargain in good faith." (Not seriously.) Or you could make it more neutral and say "crew members who are out of work."
I think "Queen" is the right title. Allyson Beatrice, Queen of the Buffistas and Mad Cat Herder.

My turn better not come up for years, okay? I've done my time.
It's cool. It's so rare that we're signing letters or anything with the Buffistas name.
I don't want to be all jerky, just sure that peeps are cool with what's there.
When we make donations as a group, I ask that they be credited to Buffistas.org as a collective, and sign with Buffistas.org under my name, because it's just easier for the recipient charity to get that I'm not donating on my own, but as a representative of a group.
We were sure we didn't have to vote about putting up the "we support the writers" sign, but it turned out that there were people who stepped forward with differing opinions.
What Dana said. I made the suggestion as a quick compromise to try and prevent anyone saying "we need to vote on that!".
I just want to know why there's no period after the "al" in et al!
Other than that, I have no issues.
Tomorrow, I'm going to bring gift bags to the picketers downtown. Anyone want to join me? For transportation's sake, I think I'm going to do 20 bags, each with two hand warmers, two lip glosses (and by "lip gloss" I mean chapstick), one rain poncho (it's not currently precipitating, but I'm sure it will again!), and some candies. I think that's it. And I think I'm going to have a little money left when I put all of the receipts together, so I'll just send that to the fund?

NPR had a story this afternoon about the contentious South Korean presidential election. Whoever gets the most votes wins, even if it's far below 50% of the vote.
I'm sure you guys know what I thought of next.
Okay, spoke with a very nice lady at the work stoppage fund for the crew and she says that they can tally the donations.
Now I just have to write up a blog post explaining this stuff, and start sending out emails.
