I'm working on something, Polter-Cow. It's difficult because every three words the phrase "fucking pencils!" keeps finding its way onto the page.
Which, while satisfying, won't help.
Also waiting for a callback from the Work Stoppage Relief Fund people so I can see about doing a tally.
Then I just need to:
Set up dates for collection
Work out a plan for raffle
Convince people to mail me signed scripts for raffle
Publicize the fundraiser
Hope it all goes well
I keep thinking the easiest thing would be an eBay auction, but I like the idea of a more egalitarian contest.
Could you do both, Allyson?
I think asking people to donate and then send you the receipt, just like Sars did for the TN contest, is a perfectly acceptable way of doing things. No matter how much you donate, it's
that
you donate that matters.
An eBay auction would be kind of prohibitive in a way because, say, if someone were jonesin' for a particular script and someone jumped in with a hundred-dollar mark on it, they would be dissuaded from donating at all. (Of course, the flipside is would someone have put a hundred bucks down if they would have had the same chance of winning the script by putting ten bucks down.)
Would anyone have an issue with me signing the letter:
Allyson Beatrice
Buffistas.org
?????
I mean, if it's something we have to vote on, I'll take it away, I just sort of don't know how else to describe me as being fandom's bitch.
Allyson Beatrice Buffistas.org aka fandom's bitch
could work
if it's something we have to vote on,
Won't we have to vote to determine whether we need to vote?
Perhaps "Allyson Beatrice, member of Buffistas.org", so it's clear you're not speaking for the board as a whole?
Perhaps "Allyson Beatrice, member of Buffistas.org", so it's clear you're not speaking for the board as a whole?
I think this would work (without requiring any voting).
