"Everybody likes laughing at furries, right!? RIGHT?!?! It'll be awesome! And we can associate them with the AMPTP because they suck and furries are weird!"
I'm all live-and-let-live & people-can-do-what-they-want. If some folks want to take a plush toy and add a SPH or SPA, I say go for it.
I also find the entire concept funny and weird, and that link cracked me up.
Call me insensitive.

weird x-post with JZ. Call me immature too, then.
No plush animals were harassed in the making of this link.
I read the FAQs to find out the difference, and now I kind of wish I hadn't.

Whitefonted for the delicate flowers amongst all y'all:
Furries
are, you know, furries. Some of them like to dress up as animals (sometimes giant stuffed animals, sometimes more realistic dress-up). Some of them like to have sex (with other humans) while so dressed. It's primal, transgressive, connected to some deep lower-mammal or high idealized self they can't access at other times.
Plushies
like to have sex with their stuffed animals. Not people dressed like stuffed animals (not that they're ruling that out; they like teh sex with teh humans, too, but the particular plushie who wrote these FAQs made pro-human-sex noises without specifying any garb), but the actual stuffed animals. FAQ Guy asks, "What could be more natural? Everything about stuffed animals, their softness, cuddliness, cuteness, is designed to be loved." Also, you should be sure to wash them and comb out their fur after sex, unless you like them all messy, and if you're out shopping and see an animal you can't live without you may want to stock up on extras for that inevitable time when you need to retire the first.
Any questions, class?
What would you classify someone who likes to dress up as one of the Teletubbies as? The former, right?

I think so. The latter don't seem that interested in dressing up themselves (or, at least, the one representative of the latter who wrote those FAQs), just in the plush state of their beloveds.

(There's a reason why I got PETE WENTZ IS A FURRY, TRUFAX up on the text message screen at my last FOB concert, dude.)
Wouldn't dressing up as a Teletubbie be considered cosplay?
I love that Minearverse is hosting a furries v. plushies debate.

I wasn't naming names!
(But, yeah, painfully obvious who I was talking about! Teletubbies? PETE. GIANT FREAKING RABBITS? Patrick. Such. Enormous. DORKS.)
