I actually think it's just a random, immature sort of joke. "Everybody likes laughing at furries, right!? RIGHT?!?! It'll be awesome! And we can associate them with the AMPTP because they suck and furries are weird!"
It's the one point that the humor broke down for me, assuming I'm not missing something.

I thought all of the girls looked great! It took me a minute to recognize Juliet. I like short hair on the right kind of face, and wish I had the right kind of face.
I was particularly impressed that both Alan Tudyk and Ron Glass were there.

NOW I'm rolling my eyes at you. It's too short for her features. She's crazy pretty, but it doesn't work with her jawline.
I'm going to need a face front picture to make a call. I actually think her optimal length was probably what she had on HIMYM. Slightly longer than Amy's new cut but much curlier.

JenP's my favorite!
Lordy she looks good there. But the short crop makes her nose look a little funny - better with some balancing curls.
Though I prefer this cut on her, I don't think it is her optimal look. I guess I see what Ple's saying about her jaw.
