those yellow ribbons fill me with rage
What about the ones that are half yellow, half American flag, and turned on their sides so they look like Jesus fish?
(Laura, I haven't seen the paint job damage you describe -- maybe because nobody has taken the damned things off yet -- but the news fills my dark little heart with schadenfreudtastic joy.)
Strike News, Day 4:
There's a widely circulating rumor that a very famous producer is flying in scab writers from the UK to work on his "bloody" TV hourlong. And that, in gratitude, a certain network gave the show a back 9 order. I heard the producer put out blue pages on the show and told crew that the next entirely new script was forthcoming. Some on the picket line encountered the showrunner who confirmed that non-union people were being hired. I'm trying to confirm so I can name names.
Most people assume she's talking about Joel Silver and
Moonlight.
"I Proudly Support the Marines But Want Them Home"
This is exactly what I needed back then. I just don't get how you could be "supporting troops" and arguing for them to spend more time in greater numbers in a war zone.
Like fireworks, only with the smell of BBQ.
"Someone's cooking." /Rose Tyler
Well, my DVR just got a little lighter until that rumor is disproved. grrrr!
But it turns out that they're still shooting.
Someone I know on
Moonlight
said they'd just started shooting episode 12 (er, I'm guessing that's episode 13, counting the pilot). I don't know how many episode scripts they were supposed to have had on hand at the time of the strike. That looks like the last one they'll be shooting before the holidays.
I just got the internal AMPTP release and started laughing out loud at my desk.
So it seems this rumor has some weight to it.
And the general public is probably completely ignorant of this. They'll watch the show if it airs, regardless of who wrote it. God, that's got to be so weird for the
Moonlight
writers, to have to come back to a story that other people have mucked about with.
