Oh and HEY. In all the craziness of today, I completely forgot to mention my awesome birthday present from Polgara. If you look at the unfortunate donut-eating picture, you will notice the awesome scarf that I am wearing. Knitted by the talented but non-demonic hands of Polgara herself.
It's so pretty and super soft!
ETA: On second thought, don't look at the unfortunate donut-eating picture, just imagine how awesome the scarf is.
Plain or the too-fenneled ones?
I think they were just plain. I didn't see another variety.

They're rarely marketed as the "too fennelly flavor."
Leaders from the WGA and the AMPTP have mutually agreed to resume formal negotiations on November 26.
Does that mean the writers can stop picketing?
Nope.
How long was it before the AMPTP came back to the table during the 1988 strike? Is this really good news, or is it traditional for them to go back and forth, and this is just The Beginning?

I see this as a flaw as well. They should warn me.

I would have typed mean words that he would never see at Cuse -- long before now -- if I'd known it would move things along. I suspect it was Polgara's strong words that had the biggest impact, though. When the inventor of the internet is cheesed off, people pay attention.
I keep saying that the Buffistas are the Illuminati of Mass Media, and now that I have proof I'm going to gryy gur jbeyq naq lbh jvyy or rkcbfrq sbe jung lbh UBYL PENC NER GUBFR FGBEZGEBB
Okay fellow Illuminati, if you need to kill Strega because she knows too much, that's one thing, but making her type like the rest of the internet is taking it a bit too far, don'tcha think? Leave her her dignity.

I'm thinking any fennel in my meatballs is too much fennel.
I like the donut picture, kristen. It made me smile. The bags look great and now I feel like a slacker who offered to come and help with bag production but never got off her ass.
the bags look amazing! well done Allyson & bag productionistas!
Not to burst anyone's bubble, but Nikki Finke says the agents saved the day:
I'm told that yesterday a secret meeting took place at CAA partner Bryan Lourd's home between Writers Guild president Patric Verrone and chief WGA negotiator Dave Young with Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger and News Corp (Fox) No. 2 Peter Chernin, and others. Lourd refuses to comment about what went on, but I do believe he deserves tremendous credit for starting the effort to get both sides talking again and seeing it through to a successful conclusion.
In my earlier story, I described the backchannelling efforts by two agents without naming the tenpercenters specifically (because I didn't want to put the kibosh on their delicate diplomatic effort to make progress towards a settlement). As I reported then, a partner in a major tenpercentery was having "much conversation" with WGA negotiating committee topper Dave Young. I can tell you now this was Lourd. I reported that, at the same time, a partner at a different major agency was talking to AMPTP president Nick Counter. This was United Talent Agency's Jim Berkus, who also deserves tremendous credit. Together, the agents' goal was to just bring both sides back in touch with one another. A phone call took place, and then came the meeting at Lourd's home.
